[Updated: WINNER !!!] An open letter to every sushi bar IN THE WORLD.

UPDATE !!!

If you don’t ask, you don’t get, and if you do ask, you can get big. For a few months now, the fabulous “Sushi Bento Japanese” in Southgate has been open, almost a month after I wrote this letter originally. I don’t know who or what is looking down on me and smiling, but thank’s Big Man for sending us dizians of the N14 postcode the pure and utter delight that is “Sushi Bento Japanese” in Southgate. It’s not cheap, but it’s shot right to the front as being my favorite resturant in the entire world, more or less. A few of my favorite things are…

  • Salmon Skin Maki (inside out roll)
  • Ebi Goyza (prawn dumpling, oh god, so lush)
  • Prawn Tempora Tamaki (like an ice cream cone shapped sushi
  • TERYAKI SAUCE
  • The small maki rolls with egg or avacardo
  • California Roll Tamaki
  • … fuck it, everything except raw squid or tuna

Seriously, every bite is a joy to me, but you do need to spend between ÂŁ15 and ÂŁ25 to get a real good feast of a meal. They do bento boxes and lunchtime special that I haven’t had the chance to try it, but believe me, I will !

sushiBrothers, Sisters, Fellow Southgateians, Top-of-the-Piccadilly-linests and those whom we welcome with our many transport links. For to long have we sat on the sidelines, accepted second class citizenship as a high-street without a Sushi Bar. Sure, sure, we have our supermarkets with their supermarket branded sushi, but I say ‘No !!!!!’ and ‘Nay !!!’ to their draconian sushi. I, like you, can not endure the dry rice anymore. I can not stand the lack of tiny little bowls that we shall fill with soy sauce and wassabi. And I will not rest, I swear it, until a facebook group is set up to air my humble views.

Southgate is the epicentre of modern life, a model for all high streets up and down the entire tube network. We are a proud people, but we have one last inadequacy, the lack of a decent sushi bar. Sure, we have a Subway now, and we’ve always had a humble McDonalds. We have many Flagship Stores, including the flagship store of “Oriental Chef”, “Charcoal Grill” and, lest we forget, the flagship store of “Supreme Dry Cleaners”. We have no less than 3 major supermarkets who have seen the potential that Southgate holds, along with numerous pubs. We have a good mix of chains and individual businesses.

Southgate has born many a famous person, such as “the fit one” from S-Club 7, Rachel Stevens, and “the not so fit one” from, well, she doesn’t have a group, Amy Winehouse. According to Wikipedia, Husband and wife singing coaches David and Carrie Grant live in Southgate too (they’re from the better of the two music talent shows, Fame Academy), who sporn the great Lemar, and I know for fact that he’s partial to a bit of Chinese from the Oriental Chef. We in Southgate are well known for our celebrity-famous streets. Even the famous Sir Thomas Lipton upgraded his residence from Muswell Hill to Southgate, and he almost invented Tea. I could go on and on, the list of people is great, especially if you include places such as Beverly Hills.

I won’t bore you with academics, such as population, shop rental prices and average income, or even where there is a vacant shop (Southgate’s retail space gets snapped up because everyone who knows, knows southgate is the best location in north London, sometimes loving referred to as “New York’s Hamptons of Europe”).

Sushi, Sashimi and Japanese food in general, is a delight to all who are graced with a morsel of it’s goodness. From Chicken Teryakki to California Southgate Rolls, it’s all amazingly good. I estimate that by the end of your first fiscal year, you would be worth more than Bill Gates and Northen Rock put together, people will flood to taste your Nigirizushi .

We are very health conscious in Southgate, as you can tell by our LA Fitness and “Enfield Council Swimming Pool and Sports Centre”, and I think you’re the kind of person who can bring this food to the masses.

I think you get the jist of what I’m saying, and I kindly thank you for reading this.

Cheers

Gonz.
